Lindisfarne presents: The Talented Mr Ripley – REDUX

March 6, 2009

There’s no rest for the wicked, or, it seems, the occasionally badly behaved. Lindisfarne, after completing a highly successful run of A Doll’s House, are back in rehearsals and hunting for trophies at this year’s Thurrock Festival.

n682286037_108480_6864This time it’s the cult classic The Talented Mr Ripley, a dark play based on the book by Patricia Highsmith.

Lindisfarne has performed the twisted drama before in April 2007, with Rob Stow in the leading role.

Under the direction of Steve McCartney, the players will perform the play on Monday 1st June at the Thurrock one act and full length play festival at Thameside Theatre, Grays.

If you’re hungry for more great performances for Lindisfarne, there will be four more performances at the company’s new home, the Dixon Studio, Palace Theatre, from Wednesday 17th to Saturday 20th June.

Rehearsals start on Wednesday 11th March at Clarence Road Baptist Church Hall, Southend.

Steve said:

“It’s great to be returning to the Dixon space so soon, and to be performing once again at the lovely Thameside Theatre.  I am looking forward to working with most of the original cast and introducing Trevor Corner, Nathan Spencer, George Nightingale and Belinda Belt in re-cast roles.

“Most people will remember the film starring Jude Law and Matt Damon but the play is a more sinister and dark affair which will even more chilling in the claustrophobic Dixon studio.”

Watch this space for rehearsal footage and interviews with the cast.
